Adopt a Terrier / Mixed

Ouiji’s foster mom watched in horror as someone dumped him off on a rural road near her home and sped away. Ouiji attempted to follow the car as it left and when she stopped to help him, he was too afraid to come to her…so she went on into work that morning, but was haunted by what she had seen. She called the neighbor whose house he was dumped in front of to see if he was still there, and sure enough he was laying in the driveway waiting for his owner to return. With the help of a friend, lots of treats and patience, they were finally able to capture him. He was skinny, intact, covered in parasites and appeared to have mange.
Well, all that has changed!! Ouiji has blossomed into a very handsome boy! He is approximately 2 years old and the perfect size, about 30 pounds and to appears to be some kind of terrier mix. He came into his foster mom’s home of 5 dogs and 3 cats and blended in right away. He is housetrained to a doggie door, has never even offered to lift his leg in the house (quite impressive), walks well on lead, rides quietly in the car and so very sweet and affectionate. Ouiji LOVES having toys!! We think he may have never had any before because he loves them all…he will one by one bring each one out and play with it before going to get another. He has yet to de-stuff any of them. Ouiji really loves playing with his foster siblings and would do well in a home with another dog or in a home where he gets lots of attention. He has never really been around young children but I think he would do well with older kids. He has a very tolerant disposition and puts up with a few bossy dogs quite well. Energetic when he first sees you, he will get the “zoomies” in his excitement, but settles down pretty quickly. He would probably do well as a trail or agility dog or running partner as he is very athletic and loves to run. Chasing squirrels is a favorite pastime, so a fenced yard is a must! Ouiji is in the process of the slow method of Heartworm treatment which will need to be continued by his adopter with OOTW supplying the meds…so no extra cost to you. He is ready for the next chapter of his life and his own happy ending. Can you give this wonderful deserving dog a forever home?
